‘Malala - A Girl with a Book‘. That’s the name of the play we went to see on the 1st of December 2022 in the English Theatre in Frankfurt. Before the theatre visit we read the book ’I am Malala’ in our English lessons. We did quizzes and talked about the book in class, so we were sure we prepared ourselves well for the play. We went there together with the classes G9a, G9b, G9c, G10a, G10b and the teachers Ms. Scharf, Mr. Adam, Ms. Naweito, Ms. Waldeck and Ms. Noll. We left Hofgeismar at 7.17 a.m. by RT1. We arrived in Kassel at 8 a.m. and then we had enough time to enter the RE to Frankfurt. The train journey took about 3 hours, but it was a fun time to share with our friends. At 11.20 a.m. we arrived at Frankfurt main station and went directly to the theatre. The play lasted about 1 hour and at the end of the play, we were allowed to ask the actress questions. After that, we went outside and our teachers asked us how we liked the play. What really impressed us was that one actress did the play all by herself. We all expected that there would be more actors and not only one but it was still impressive. Then we had 3 hours of freetime and we went to the Christmas Market and the ‘Zeil’. The Christmas Market in Frankfurt is very big and on the Zeil there are many cool shops and restaurants. At 4 o‘clock we went back to the train station and went back to Hofgeismar, where we arrived at 7.30 p.m. we arrived. The visit to the theatre was definitely worth the effort and we hope that we can go to the theatre again next year.
